We’re very happy to reveal the full band line up for the Far East To East Showcase 2010.   In addition to the internationally renowned duo Puffy AmiYumi, we’re also adding Boom Boom Satellites, Zazen Boys and Echostream.  So Sunday October 10th 2010, Irving Plaza is going to be filled with the wall to wall sounds of pop rock, electro rock, indie and alternative.  At a ticket price of $23.00 is this promises to be the best FETES we’ve ever!   There is nothing better than experiencing such an eclectic mix of highly talented artists share the same stage.  Except for a nice MLT – a mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe.. oh wait.  Tickets are still available, get them here via LiveNation.

Anna Copa Cabanna is a dancer, singer, songwriter, pretty punker, MC, entertainer, Australian trivia master extraordinaire and now Jailbait?   She’s  is bringing her awesomeness again to Joe’s Pub on Saturday September 4th.  If you’re looking to have a splendid night chock full of danger, suspense, emotional cliff hangers and a tinge of Olivia Newton-John, then The Anna Copa Cabanna show is the deal and Joe’s Pub is the place to be.

Behold the Drumssette, it is the brain child of Mike Walters of Mystery Circuits and FanTan.   It’s a programmable drum machine that consists of a Tascam 4 track cassette recorder, sequencer, casing from a PH meter, ingenuity and a lot of patience.  There isn’t much more to say except that it’s an awesome example of using stuff that is readily available to create something cool.  Hopefully, Mike will be able to break it out during a live show.  You can check out a video clip of the funky device below and you can find out more about the makings of the Drumssette and hear samples via Mike’s website: Mystery Circuits.

Tickets for the Far East To East Showcase featuring Puffy Ami Yumi will go on sale Thursday July 15th.  Tickets can be purchased online via this LiveNation. After recently completing their first US tour, Japanese girl trio: Chatmonchy has everyone buzzing.   We were very happy to host them at our event at Cakeshop on March 22nd along with Me & Mars and Sky White Tiger.   Here are some photos of the fun filled show.  Special thanks to photographers Daisuke Yoshida and Ossip Kaehr.

Saturday April 10th looks like a big day as far as Japanese events are concerned.

In Washington D.C., The Japan-American Society of D.C. will present the 50th Annual Sakura Matsuri Street Festival from 11:00am – 6:00pm.  DJ Hayden Honey of Superglorious will end off the fun filled day with groovy set of Japanese music.
